Arethusa Farm, Located At 822 Bantam Rd, Ct, Was Named After A Pink Orchid That Grew In A Swamp On The Land. Originally A Dairy Farm, It Was Purchased In 1999 By George Malkemus And Anthony Yurgaitis To Save Open Farmland. They Established Their Own Dairy Herd And Won Top Honors At The World Dairy Expo. In 2009, Arethusa Began Bottling Milk And Yogurt And Won The Honor Of Premiere Holstein Breeder At World Dairy Expo. They Opened A Storefront In New Haven And A Café In Bantam. In 2020, They Partnered With Other Local Family Farms To Supply Milk And Opened A Dairy And Café In West Hartford.
